Before long, artists found ways to resist. They turned the uniform itself into a canvas for subtle defiance.
The uniforms are crisp and structured, but the airbrushed tights beneath the skirt tell a different story. The organic designs swirling across the legs are a hidden glimpse of individuality. I used an old bed comforter for the skirt - I wanted the uniforms to feel domestic and conforming.
